Integrative Roles of Sweet Taste Receptors in Metabolic Tissues

Sweet taste receptors (STRs), originally characterized for their role in gustation, are now recognized as key nutrient-sensing GPCRs in multiple metabolic tissues. I will highlight our initial work uncovering STR-mediated signaling in the intestine and pancreas, focusing on their roles in hormone secretion and metabolic homeostasis. I will then present our new data showing how STRs regulate muscle mass and fitness.
