On April 29, 2025, Scott A. Soleimanpour, MD, was formally recognized as the new Larry D. Soderquist Professor during a moving ceremony held in the Cure Room at Brehm Tower.
The evening opened with remarks from Dr. Martin Myers, Director of CDI, who presented Dr. Soleimanpour with a commemorative medal to mark the honor.
In his remarks, Dr. Soleimanpour reflected on the path that led him to this moment, sharing heartfelt stories about his family, many of whom were present, as well as his research journey and enduring commitment to advancing diabetes care. He ended his presentation by sharing his gratitude to the Brehm family, his mentors, colleagues, and loved ones for their support and inspiration throughout his career.
The celebration concluded with a reception in the Brehm Tower lobby, where colleagues, family, and friends gathered to honor Dr. Soleimanpour's achievements and contributions to diabetes research.

The Larry D. Soderquist Professorship was established by Bill and Dee Brehm in memory of Dee’s brother, Larry D. Soderquist, who passed away in 2005.
