Dr. Manuj Bandral was recently awarded the fellowship grant for his application, "Improving stem cell derived islets with dorsal/ventral pancreas specific signals".
Dr. Bandral is a post-doctoral fellow in Pharmacology currently working with the Lorberbaum Lab. Their work utilizes human pluripotent stem cell-derived islets alongside in vivo murine models of pancreas development and function to improve therapies for people with type 1 diabetes. According to Dr. Bandral, "Support from the Fernandez Buddin Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) Fellowship Grant would serve as an invaluable component of my postdoctoral training and help to facilitate exciting experiments aimed at improving therapies and finding a cure for T1D."
Congratulations on this achievement, Dr. Bandral!
