I am an Assistant Professor in the Division of Nephrology at the University of Michigan, with expertise in applying computational and systems biology approaches to improve treatment strategies for patients with diabetic kidney disease (DKD) and acute kidney injury (AKI). My formal training in
Biometry and Statistics, along with prior experience as a Statistical Programmer Analyst at the Mayo Clinic, provides a strong quantitative foundation for my translational research program. My research interests focus on using systems biology approaches to better understand mechanisms of acute and chronic kidney diseases and response to treatment. Most of my work has focused on identifying how SGLT2 inhibitors influence tubular cell health in the kidney. I have examined how these agents influence tubular cell health in individuals with DKD and am now expanding to explore its impact in patients with AKI.
