Biography

Bridging people, health systems, and communities to address root causes of poor health and support the journey to optimal health for all. I identify and leverage community resources, including peer support and local organizations, to implement programs that prevent chronic diseases like Type2 diabetes. Additionally, I examine how nonprofit health systems tackle social drivers of health in underserved, low-resource, and rural areas.

  • Ph.D., Duke University School of Nursing

Research

- Our project team works with community members and organizations to design a peer support enhanced National Type 2 Diabetes Prevention Program for local faith communities.
- I explore how nonprofit hospitals in high need and often low resource or rural communities address social needs and social drivers of health.
