Vaibhav Sidarala
Biography
I am a diabetes researcher with a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Wayne State University. My scientific background is within the areas of cell biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, metabolism and endocrinology. With over 10 years of experience in diabetes research, I have contributed to the completion of several collaborative projects and peer-reviewed publications. I have presented my research at national and international conferences including those organized by the American Diabetes Association (ADA), the Human Islet Research Network (HIRN) and the Endocrine Society (ENDO). I continue to serve as a reviewer for scientific journals, and am a active member of professional organizations including ASCB, ADA, ENDO. I engage in mentoring opportunities by training high school, undergradaute and graduate students in concepts of cell and molecular biology.

I am interested in examining how pancreatic β-cell physiology is influenced by their mitochondrial health and function.
